Mark Gallogly is an American businessman and investor. He is the founder and managing partner of Centerbridge Partners, a private investment firm. He was born on January 18, 1957 in New York City. Gallogly graduated from Georgetown University in 1979 with a degree in economics and received his MBA from Harvard Business School in 1983. After graduating from Harvard, he joined the Blackstone Group, where he worked for 15 years. In 2005, he left Blackstone to found Centerbridge Partners. Gallogly is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and serves on the boards of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the New York Public Library, and the Partnership for New York City. He is also a trustee of the Brookings Institution and a member of the board of trustees of Georgetown University. Gallogly is married to Lise Strickler, a former executive at the Blackstone Group.
