Maria Gurdin was a Russian-born actress who was best known for her roles in the films The Red Tent (1969) and The Brothers Karamazov (1958). She was born Marusia Stepanovna Zudilova on January 26, 1908 in Barnaul, Russia. Gurdin began her career in the theater, performing in productions in Moscow and Leningrad. She made her film debut in the Soviet drama The Brothers Karamazov in 1958. She went on to appear in a number of other films, including The Red Tent (1969), The Irony of Fate (1975), and The Meeting Place Cannot Be Changed (1979). Gurdin was married to actor and director Sergei Gerasimov, with whom she had two children. She died on April 15, 2001 in Moscow, Russia.
