Maria Bard was a German actress who was active in the film industry from the 1920s to the 1950s. She was born on 7 July 1900 in Schwerin, Mecklenburg, Germany. She was best known for her roles in films such as The Blue Angel (1930), The Three from the Filling Station (1930), and The Great Longing (1930). Bard began her career in the theater, performing in plays in Berlin and Hamburg. She made her film debut in the silent film The Three from the Filling Station in 1930. She went on to appear in several other films, including The Blue Angel (1930), The Great Longing (1930), and The Last Waltz (1936). Bard was married to actor and director Hans Albers from 1932 until his death in 1960. She retired from acting in the 1950s and died in Berlin on 15 April 1975. She was 74 years old.
