He also reached the quarterfinals of the US Open in 1982. Hocevar's career-high singles ranking was World No. 16 in 1983. He was also a member of the Brazilian Davis Cup team from 1979 to 1985. Hocevar retired from professional tennis in 1985 and has since become a successful businessman. He is the owner of a tennis academy in Brazil and is also involved in real estate.
