Marco Marchei is a retired Italian long-distance runner who competed in the marathon and cross-country events. He was born on 2 August 1954 in Ascoli Piceno, Italy. Marchei began his career in the late 1970s and competed in the marathon at the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow, finishing in 33rd place. He won the Rome Marathon in 1981 and the Turin Marathon in 1982. He also won the Italian Cross Country Championships in 1981 and 1982. Marchei retired from competitive running in the mid-1980s and has since become a coach. He has coached several Italian athletes, including Stefano Baldini, who won the gold medal in the marathon at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens.
