Lucy Torres Gomez

In the May 9, 2016 national elections Torres won her re-election bid, defeating Violeta Codilla of the Aksyon Demokratiko party. She and her husband, Richard Gomez left Liberal Party and joined PDP-Laban.

On March 19, 2013, the Supreme Court ousted her, ruling that she "did not validly substitute" her husband. However, her ouster did not affect her re-election bid and she regained her seat in the elections that May.

In June 2012, she sponsored an amendment to the Expanded Breastfeeding Promotion Act of 2009. The proposed amendment revises the provisions rendering a time for breastfeeding babies during work hours.

Torres was elected representative of the 4th District of Leyte in 2010. She substituted for her husband, Richard Gomez, who was disqualified by the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) because of his failure to sufficiently establish residency in Ormoc City.

Torres married actor Richard Gomez at the St. Peter and Paul Parish Church in Ormoc in 1998. They have one daughter, Juliana(b.2001).

In 1993, Torres was introduced as the new model for Lux shampoo together with her now husband, actor Richard Gomez.

Lucy Torres Gomez (born December 11, 1974) more commonly known as Lucy Torres is a Filipina actress and politician and the current representative of the 4th District of Leyte. She is a member of the PDP–Laban and is the wife of actor Richard Gomez.

Torres was born on December 11, 1974, in Ormoc, Leyte, Philippines, to Manuel "Manoling" Torres, Jr. and Julie Martínez. Her family owned several hectares of land in the province.
