Louis-Jean Cormier is a Canadian indie rock singer and songwriter. He was born on 26 May, 1980 in Canada. He is best known for his solo albums, Le treizième étage (2009) and Les grandes artères (2012). He is also a member of the band Karkwa, which won the 2010 Polaris Music Prize. Cormier began his musical career in the late 1990s, playing in various bands in the Montreal area. In 2004, he joined the band Karkwa, which released four albums and won the 2010 Polaris Music Prize for their album Les Chemins de verre. In 2009, Cormier released his first solo album, Le treizième étage, which was nominated for the 2010 Juno Award for Francophone Album of the Year. His second solo album, Les grandes artères, was released in 2012 and was nominated for the 2013 Juno Award for Francophone Album of the Year. Cormier has also composed music for film and television, including the soundtrack for the film Les Pieds dans le vide (2010).
