Lois Chiles is an American actress and former fashion model. She is best known for her roles in the films Moonraker (1979), The Great Gatsby (1974), and Halloween III: Season of the Witch (1982). Chiles was born in Houston, Texas, the daughter of Barbara Wayne Kirkland and Marion Clay Chiles. She attended the University of Texas at Austin, where she studied drama and art history. Chiles began her career as a fashion model in the late 1960s, appearing in Vogue and Harper's Bazaar. She made her film debut in the 1971 drama Summertree. She went on to appear in several films, including The Great Gatsby (1974), The Dove (1974), and Moonraker (1979). In 1982, Chiles starred in the horror film Halloween III: Season of the Witch. She also appeared in the television miniseries The Winds of War (1983) and War and Remembrance (1988). Chiles retired from acting in the early 1990s. She currently resides in Houston, Texas.
