Vaudeville comedy partner of Joe Weber, he appeared sometimes with, sometimes without his partner in silents and talkies through 1940.


He was an actor, known for The Story of Vernon and Irene Castle (1939), The Barker (1917) and Two of the Finest (1915). He was married to Rose Harris.


Active on Broadway as a producer, director, playwright and actor from 1899- 1932 (see "other works").


Actor/manager, the son of Jewish immigrants. Had a comic German immigrant act with vaudeville partner Joe Weber. With Weber, Fields operated his own theatre in New York from the mid-1890's until 1918. He subsequently opened and managed another theatre well into the 1930's.
