McKeown left the Bay City Rollers in 1978 and embarked on a solo career. He released several solo albums, including Les McKeown (1979), Nobody Makes Me Crazy (Like You Do) (1980), and It's a Game (1982). He also released several singles, including "Love Is Just a Breath Away" (1979), "She's a Lady" (1980), and "It's a Game" (1982).
