He made his professional acting debut in the 2003 television movie The Inspector Lynley Mysteries. In 2009, Bill starred in the crime drama Harry Brown, opposite Michael Caine. He then appeared in the superhero film Kick-Ass (2010) and the horror film The Woman in Black (2012). He also had a recurring role in the Showtime series The Tudors (2007–2010). In addition to his film and television work, Bill has appeared in numerous stage productions, including the Royal Shakespeare Company's production of The Tempest (2009) and the National Theatre's production of The Comedy of Errors (2011).
