She then went on to create The Young and the Restless in 1973, which became one of the most popular soap operas in the world. She also created The Bold and the Beautiful in 1987. In addition to her work in television, Bell is also a philanthropist. She and her husband, William J. Bell, founded the William J. and Loreley June Bell Foundation, which provides grants to organizations that support education, health, and the arts. Bell has been honored with numerous awards, including a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Daytime Emmy Awards in 2007. She was also inducted into the Television Hall of Fame in 1995.
