He pursued his MFA in Screenwriting at the David Lynch School of Cinema and is a 2009 graduate of the UCLA Professional Program in Producing. As an animation artist, Lee has contributed to such films as Disney's Aladdin, Pocahontas, Warner Brother's Space Jam, Fox's Ferngully: The Last Rainforest, and television shows such as The Ren & Stimpy Show. He has also animated on commercials for Dow Scrubbing Bubbles, Cocoa Pebbles cereal, a Japanese Esso spot starring Lupin the 3rd, and on the Disney/Sega Genesis game, Gargoyles.

The film went on to win awards at festivals around the world, appeared on Canal Plus TV in France and qualified for Academy Award consideration in 1997.
