Lara Teeter is an American dancer, choreographer, and actor. He is best known for his work on the Broadway musicals A Chorus Line, Cats, and 42nd Street. He has also appeared in films such as The Muppets Take Manhattan and The Producers. Teeter was born in Guthrie, Oklahoma, and began his dance training at the age of five. He attended the University of Oklahoma, where he studied dance and theatre. After college, he moved to New York City to pursue a career in dance and theatre. Teeter made his Broadway debut in the original production of A Chorus Line in 1975. He went on to appear in the original Broadway productions of Cats, 42nd Street, and The Producers. He also appeared in the film adaptations of A Chorus Line and The Producers. Teeter has choreographed for the Broadway productions of The Producers, The Boy from Oz, and The Drowsy Chaperone. He has also choreographed for the national tours of The Producers and The Boy from Oz. Teeter has been nominated for two Tony Awards for Best Choreography, for The Producers and The Boy from Oz. Teeter is married to Kristen, a dancer who is also a teacher of jazz and contemporary dance classes. They married at a Sonoma Valley winery, with cast members from the tour of The Wizard of Oz attending, and celebrated their 15th wedding anniversary in 2013. They have four children.

He performed in many productions at St. Louis Municipal Opera Theatre, commonly called The Muny in St. Louis, Missouri, including "Scuttle" in The Little Mermaid, with his daughter playing "Flounder" in 2011. He also won the 1983 Outer Critics Circle Award for Outstanding Debut Performance. The show ran for 505 performances.
