Keith Strickland is an American musician, singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist. He is best known as the drummer and co-founder of the new wave band The B-52s. Strickland was born in Athens, Georgia, and grew up in nearby Watkinsville. He attended the University of Georgia, where he studied art and music. Strickland began his musical career in 1976, when he joined The B-52s, a band formed by his friends Fred Schneider, Kate Pierson, Cindy Wilson, and Ricky Wilson. Strickland played drums and guitar on the band's first two albums, The B-52s (1979) and Wild Planet (1980). He also wrote and sang lead vocals on the song "Give Me Back My Man" from the latter album. In addition to his work with The B-52s, Strickland has released two solo albums, Change (1985) and Time Capsule (1998). He has also composed music for film and television, including the theme song for the television series The Adventures of Pete & Pete.
