Kazuo Shimizu is a Japanese wrestler who was born on 26 July 1954 in Japan. He is 66 years old. He is a former sumo wrestler and is currently a professional wrestler. He is best known for his time in the All Japan Pro Wrestling (AJPW) promotion, where he held the Triple Crown Heavyweight Championship three times. Shimizu began his career in sumo in 1972, reaching the top division in 1979. He was a runner-up in the May 1981 tournament, and reached his highest rank of sekiwake in July 1981. He retired in May 1982, after a series of injuries. Shimizu then began a career in professional wrestling, joining AJPW in 1983. He won the Triple Crown Heavyweight Championship three times, and held the title for a total of 545 days. He also held the PWF World Heavyweight Championship once. He retired from active competition in 1998, but still makes occasional appearances in AJPW. Shimizu is married and has two children. He is currently the head coach of the AJPW dojo. He is also a member of the Japan Sumo Association's board of directors.
