Karen Aleksanyan is a retired Armenian football midfielder who was born on 17 June, 1980 in Gyumri, Soviet Armenia. He began his career in the Armenian Premier League with FC Shirak in 1998. He then moved to FC Pyunik in 2000, where he won the Armenian Premier League title in 2001 and 2002. He also won the Armenian Cup in 2002 and 2003. Aleksanyan was a member of the Armenian national team from 2000 to 2006, making a total of 24 appearances and scoring one goal. He was also part of the team that qualified for the UEFA Euro 2004. Aleksanyan retired from professional football in 2006 and is currently working as a football coach. He is the head coach of the Armenian U-19 national team.
