Goldman graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 2003 with a degree in political science. She began her career as a reporter for the Associated Press in Washington, D.C. in 2004. She then moved to Bloomberg News in 2006, where she covered the White House and Congress. In 2011, Goldman joined NBC News as a White House correspondent. She covered the Obama administration for four years before joining CBS News in 2015. Goldman is married to fellow journalist and former White House correspondent for NBC News, Chuck Todd. Her mother is the founder and president of a human resources agency and sits on the board of the National Jewish Democratic Council. She attended Charles E. Smith Jewish Day School in Rockville, Maryland, for all of her primary and secondary schooling. She attended Barnard College of Columbia University in 2003 and graduated magna cum laude. She currently is pursuing a master's degree in government with a concentration in national security studies from Johns Hopkins University.
