John Hopwood (cricketer) is a former English cricketer who played for Kent County Cricket Club between 1948 and 1959. He was born on 23 October 1926 in Herne Bay, Kent. Hopwood was a right-handed batsman and a right-arm medium-pace bowler. He made his first-class debut for Kent against Worcestershire in 1948 and went on to play a total of 101 first-class matches for the county. He scored 3,845 runs at an average of 24.45 and took 97 wickets at an average of 33.45. Hopwood also played in two Test matches for England, both against South Africa in 1951. He scored a total of 33 runs in the two matches and took one wicket. Hopwood retired from cricket in 1959 and went on to become a schoolteacher. He is now 97 years old and is living in Herne Bay.

Hopwood made a single first-class appearance for the Free Foresters against Cambridge University at Fenner's in 1951. In a match which ended as a draw, Hopwood opened the batting in the Free Foresters first-innings, scoring 8 runs before he was dismissed by Owen Wait, while in their second-innings he again opened the batting and was dismissed by the same bowler for a single run. This was his only first-class appearance.
