Coy has written over twenty books for children and young adults, including the award-winning novels, Crackback, Rules of the Road, and Vacation. He has also written several picture books, including the popular series, The Adventures of a Southside Shorty. Coy has won numerous awards for his work, including the Minnesota Book Award, the International Reading Association Award, and the Christopher Award. He has also been a finalist for the National Book Award and the Los Angeles Times Book Prize. Coy currently lives in Minneapolis with his wife and two children. He continues to write and speak about the importance of reading and writing for young people.
