John Ashton is an American actor and musician best known for his roles in the films Beverly Hills Cop, Midnight Run, and The Last Boy Scout. He has also appeared in television series such as The Equalizer, Miami Vice, and The X-Files. Ashton was born in Springfield, Massachusetts, and attended the University of Massachusetts Amherst. He began his acting career in the late 1970s, appearing in the films The Wanderers and The Warriors. He went on to appear in a number of films throughout the 1980s and 1990s, including Beverly Hills Cop, Midnight Run, and The Last Boy Scout. In addition to his film work, Ashton has also appeared in a number of television series, including The Equalizer, Miami Vice, and The X-Files. He has also had recurring roles in the series Nash Bridges and The Mentalist. Ashton is also a musician, and has released two albums, "John Ashton and the Uninvited Guests" and "John Ashton and the Lost and Found". He is currently working on a third album.
