Joel Bailey is an American producer, writer, and actor. He is best known for his work on the television series The Wonder Years, which he produced and wrote for. He has also written for the series Family Ties, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, and The Cosby Show. Bailey was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and attended the University of Minnesota. He began his career in the entertainment industry in the late 1970s, writing for the television series The Jeffersons. He then went on to write for Family Ties, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, and The Cosby Show. In 1988, Bailey was hired to produce and write for the television series The Wonder Years. He wrote and produced the show for its entire six-season run, and was nominated for an Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing in a Comedy Series in 1990. In addition to his work in television, Bailey has also written and produced several feature films, including The Big Picture (1989), The War at Home (1996), and The Last Days of Disco (1998). Bailey is currently married to actress and producer, Marcy Carsey. The couple has two children.
