Joe Castiglione is an American sports broadcaster and the current radio play-by-play announcer for the Boston Red Sox. He was born on October 8, 1957 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He attended the University of Miami, where he earned a degree in broadcast journalism. Castiglione began his broadcasting career in 1979, calling play-by-play for the University of Miami Hurricanes football team. He then moved on to the University of Oklahoma, where he served as the radio play-by-play announcer for the Sooners from 1983 to 1986. In 1987, Castiglione was hired by the Boston Red Sox to become their radio play-by-play announcer. He has held this position ever since, and is currently the longest-tenured broadcaster in the team's history. Castiglione has been honored with numerous awards throughout his career, including the National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association's "Sportscaster of the Year" award in 2004. He was also inducted into the Red Sox Hall of Fame in 2011. As of 2021, Joe Castiglione's net worth is estimated to be roughly $2 million.
