Jean-Jacques Andrien is a Belgian director, producer, and writer. He is best known for his work on the television series "Les Enfants du Soleil" (Children of the Sun) and the feature film "La Vie des Morts" (The Life of the Dead). He has also directed several short films and documentaries. Andrien was born in Verviers, Belgium, on 1 June 1944. He studied at the Institut des Arts de Diffusion in Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium, and graduated in 1968. He then went on to work as a director and producer for the Belgian television network RTBF. Andrien has directed and produced numerous television series, including "Les Enfants du Soleil" (Children of the Sun), "Les Enfants de la Terre" (Children of the Earth), and "Les Enfants de la Mer" (Children of the Sea). He has also directed several feature films, including "La Vie des Morts" (The Life of the Dead), "La Vie des Vivants" (The Life of the Living), and "La Vie des Autres" (The Life of Others). Andrien has won several awards for his work, including the Grand Prize at the Brussels International Film Festival in 1989 for "La Vie des Morts" and the Grand Prize at the Brussels International Film Festival in 1991 for "La Vie des Vivants".
