Ivan Ladislav Galeta is a Croatian multimedia artist who has been active since the 1970s. He is best known for his experimental films, video art, and installations. He has also worked in photography, performance art, and painting. Galeta was born in Vinkovci, Croatia, in 1947. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb, where he graduated in 1971. He then went on to teach at the Academy from 1971 to 1975. Galeta's work has been exhibited in numerous galleries and museums around the world, including the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Centre Pompidou in Paris, and the Tate Modern in London. He has also participated in numerous international film festivals, including the Berlin International Film Festival and the Venice Biennale. Galeta has received numerous awards for his work, including the Grand Prix at the Oberhausen International Short Film Festival in Germany in 1975, the Grand Prix at the International Short Film Festival in Tampere, Finland in 1976, and the Grand Prix at the International Short Film Festival in Oberhausen in 1977.
