Iuliana Munteanu is a Romanian rower who was born on 14 November, 1955 in Voluntari, Romania. She is a two-time Olympic gold medalist, having won gold medals in the women's double sculls at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles and the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul. She also won a bronze medal in the women's single sculls at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona. Munteanu began rowing in 1972 and was a member of the Romanian national team from 1976 to 1992. She won numerous medals at the World Rowing Championships, including gold medals in the women's double sculls in 1981 and 1985, and a bronze medal in the women's single sculls in 1989. Munteanu retired from competitive rowing in 1992 and has since worked as a rowing coach. She is currently the head coach of the Romanian national rowing team.
