Ismail Rage is a Tanzanian politician and former Prime Minister of Tanzania. He was born in Tanganyika, now Tanzania, on 3 January 1953. He is a member of the Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) party. Rage studied at the University of Dar es Salaam, where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Political Science. He then went on to pursue a Master of Arts degree in Economics at the University of Manchester in the United Kingdom. Rage began his political career in the early 1980s, when he was appointed as the Minister of Finance and Economic Affairs in the government of President Julius Nyerere. He served in this position until 1985, when he was appointed as the Prime Minister of Tanzania. He served in this position until 1990, when he was replaced by Salim Ahmed Salim. Rage has since served in various other positions in the Tanzanian government, including as the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Minister of State in the President's Office, and Minister of State in the Prime Minister's Office. Rage is currently 71 years old. He is married and has three children. His net worth is estimated to be around $1 million.
