In 2018, Mihalache was involved in a conflict of interest controversy surrounding the allocation of funding by the Centre national du cinéma et de l'image animée (CNC), which covers public funding of film production in France. Mihalache was part of a committee within the CNC dedicated to subsidize content produced by online videographers, including YouTubers such as Mihalache. She was criticized on social media when it was revealed that she received a €50,000 subsidy from the committee of which she is a member; however she was absent during the meeting that ruled in favor of her subsidy, thus it is considered legal by French law. Additionally, Mihalache was later a member of the meeting that ruled in favor of a €50,000 subsidy to YouTuber Cyprien Iov, who is also a member of the CNC committee, and was involved in the meeting that previously ruled in favor of funding Mihalache; this was also a source of criticism on social media, accusing some members of the committee of using their position to subsidize each other. Iov denied any conflict of interest.
In February 2017, she published her second work entitled Très intime, verbatim of the chronicles broadcast on Le Mouv, published by Payot, with a foreword.
In April 2017, controversy arose after the publication of Mihalache's book Très intime, a compilation of anonymized accounts on female sexuality. These accounts were originally recorded two years prior as part of a program hosted by Mihalache about feminism for French radio station Mouv', and included stories about rape and domestic abuse. Some women who presented themselves as the authors of some of these accounts expressed their discontent on social media, citing privacy and intellectual property issues. They claimed Mihalache did not ask them for permission before including the stories in a book sold in libraries. Mihalache responded on the controversy with an apology on her Twitter account, citing "organization issues". One of the plaintiffs eventually stated on her blog that she was giving up on costly legal proceedings.

The character of Solange delivers comical and often absurd advice to solve the problems of the daily life of an asocial young woman. Her reasonings of pataphysical character evoke La Minute nécessaire de monsieur Cyclopède of Pierre Desproges and Jean-Louis Fournier, or some conceptual experiences of the American artist John Baldessari. Mihalache later stated about her creation: "Solange is inadequate. She does not know how to do things, but she tries".
