Hermione Baddeley was an English actress of stage, film, and television. She was born on 13 November 1906 in Broseley, Shropshire, England. She began her career in the theatre, appearing in the West End in the 1930s. She made her film debut in the 1940s and went on to appear in over 50 films. She was best known for her roles in the films Room at the Top (1959), Mary Poppins (1964), and The Adventures of Bullwhip Griffin (1967). Baddeley was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Room at the Top. She was also nominated for a BAFTA Award for Best British Actress for her role in The Unsinkable Molly Brown (1964). Baddeley was married twice, first to actor John McCallum and then to actor and producer Richard Waring. She had two children, one with each husband. Baddeley died on 19 August 1986 in Los Angeles, California, at the age of 79. Her net worth at the time of her death was estimated to be around $2 million.
