Greg Fishel is a meteorologist and television personality who has been working in the field of meteorology for over 40 years. He is best known for his work on WRAL-TV in Raleigh, North Carolina, where he has been the chief meteorologist since 1984. Fishel was born on February 19, 1957 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. He attended Millersville University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in meteorology in 1979. He then went on to earn a Master of Science degree in meteorology from the University of Oklahoma in 1981. Fishel began his career in meteorology in 1979, when he joined the National Weather Service in Oklahoma City. He then moved to WRAL-TV in Raleigh, North Carolina in 1984, where he has been the chief meteorologist ever since. Fishel is a member of the American Meteorological Society and the National Weather Association. He has won numerous awards for his work, including the National Weather Association's Seal of Approval, the National Weather Association's Broadcast Meteorologist of the Year Award, and the American Meteorological Society's Seal of Approval. Fishel is married to his wife, Lisa, and they have two children. He is an avid golfer and enjoys spending time with his family.
