He is the son of Italian immigrants, Antonio and Maria Zambelli, who founded the company in New Castle, Pennsylvania in 1893. George Zambelli was born on October 19, 1924 in New Castle, Pennsylvania. He attended New Castle High School and graduated in 1942. After high school, he enlisted in the United States Navy and served in the Pacific Theater during World War II. After the war, he returned to New Castle and joined the family business. In the 1950s, George Zambelli took over the company and began to expand it. He opened a new facility in New Castle and began to expand the company's reach to other states. He also began to develop new products and services, such as the Zambelli Fireworks Spectacular, which is now a staple of Fourth of July celebrations across the United States. Today, George Zambelli is still the president of Zambelli Fireworks Internationale. He is 79 years old and is married to his wife, Mary. They have two children, George Jr. and Maria. He is also the proud grandfather of four grandchildren.
