George Woolf was a Canadian-born American jockey who was one of the most successful jockeys of the 1930s. He was born on May 31, 1910 in Cardston, Alberta, Canada. He began his career as a jockey in 1928 and quickly rose to prominence, winning the Santa Anita Derby in 1933 and the Santa Anita Handicap in 1934. He was also the first jockey to win the Triple Crown in 1935. Woolf was a popular figure in the racing world and was known for his skill and courage. He was inducted into the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame in 1958. Woolf died in a racing accident in 1946 at the age of 36. He was posthumously inducted into the Canadian Horse Racing Hall of Fame in 1976. As of 2021, George Woolf's net worth is estimated to be around $1 million.
