He studied acting at the National School of Art in Havana, and began his career in the theater in the early 1980s. He made his film debut in the 1986 comedy "La Muerte de un Burócrata". He has since appeared in numerous films and television series, including "La Vida es un Carnaval" (2001), "El Comandante" (2009), and "La Ley del Monte" (2011).
