Gatewood Galbraith was an American lawyer, author, and politician who served as a member of the Kentucky House of Representatives from 1991 to 1995. He was a five-time candidate for Governor of Kentucky, running as an independent in 1991, 1995, 1999, 2003, and 2007. Galbraith was born in Carlisle, Kentucky, and attended the University of Kentucky, where he earned a bachelor's degree in political science in 1969. He then attended the University of Louisville School of Law, where he earned a Juris Doctor degree in 1972. Galbraith was an advocate for the legalization of marijuana and hemp, and was a frequent guest on the Howard Stern Show. He was also an actor, appearing in the films The Kentucky Fried Movie (1977) and The Kentucky Fried Movie 2 (1978). Galbraith died on January 4, 2012, at the age of 64.
