He has been in the entertainment industry for over 30 years, and has held executive positions at Warner Bros., Spyglass Entertainment, and Morgan Creek Productions. Barber graduated from the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg with a degree in commerce. He began his career in the entertainment industry in 1989, when he joined Warner Bros. as a senior vice president of business affairs. He was promoted to executive vice president in 1994, and then to president of worldwide theatrical production in 1997. In 2000, Barber left Warner Bros. to become the co-chairman and CEO of Spyglass Entertainment. He was responsible for the production of films such as The Sixth Sense, Seabiscuit, and The Count of Monte Cristo. In 2010, he joined Morgan Creek Productions as chairman and CEO. In 2012, Barber was appointed co-chairman and CEO of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. He has since overseen the production of films such as The Magnificent Seven, Creed, and Tomb Raider. Barber is married to his wife, Lisa, and they have two children. He is 63 years old and has an estimated net worth of $100 million.
