Elisabeta Turcu is a Romanian artistic gymnast who won two gold medals at the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal. She was born on 17 September 1954 in Corbeni, Romania. She began her gymnastics career at the age of nine and was coached by Octavian Belu. Turcu won the gold medal in the team competition and the gold medal in the balance beam event at the 1976 Summer Olympics. She also won the silver medal in the all-around event and the bronze medal in the floor exercise event. In 1977, Turcu won the all-around title at the European Championships and the World Cup. She also won the gold medal in the team competition at the 1979 World Championships. Turcu retired from competitive gymnastics in 1980. She is currently a coach and judge for the Romanian Gymnastics Federation. She is married to former Romanian gymnast, Constantin Turcu, and they have two children.
