El-Mehdi Sallah Diab is a Libyan politician who served as Prime Minister of Libya from 2012 to 2013. He was born in 1958 in the city of Benghazi, Libya. He studied economics at the University of Benghazi and later obtained a master's degree in economics from the University of Manchester in the United Kingdom. Diab began his political career in the 1980s, when he was appointed as the Minister of Planning and Development in the government of Prime Minister Abdessalam Jalloud. He later served as the Minister of Finance and Economy in the government of Prime Minister Ali Zeidan. In 2012, Diab was appointed as Prime Minister of Libya by the National Transitional Council. He served in this position until 2013, when he was replaced by Ali Zeidan. Diab is married and has three children. He is currently living in Benghazi, Libya.
