Edward Peil Sr. was an American actor who had a long and successful career in film, television, and theater. He was born on January 18, 1883 in Racine, Wisconsin. He began his career in vaudeville and made his Broadway debut in 1912. He went on to appear in over 100 films, including The Big Sleep (1946), The Big Clock (1948), and The Man Who Knew Too Much (1956). He also appeared in numerous television shows, including The Twilight Zone, The Untouchables, and The Rifleman. Peil Sr. was married twice and had two children. He died on April 3, 1958 in Los Angeles, California. He was 75 years old.
