Dieter Grossmann was born in 1926 in Germany. He is a German physicist and professor emeritus at the University of Heidelberg. He is best known for his work in the field of quantum mechanics and for his contributions to the development of the Grossmann-Vogt equation. Grossmann studied physics at the University of Heidelberg, where he received his doctorate in 1954. He then worked as a research assistant at the Institute of Theoretical Physics at the University of Heidelberg. In 1959, he was appointed professor of theoretical physics at the University of Heidelberg. Grossmann has published numerous books and articles on quantum mechanics and related topics. He is the author of the book Quantum Mechanics: An Introduction (Springer, 1996). He has also written several books on the history of physics, including The History of Quantum Mechanics (Springer, 2000). Grossmann is a member of the German Physical Society and the American Physical Society. He has received numerous awards and honors, including the Max Planck Medal in 1998 and the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany in 2002. Grossmann is 97 years old.
