He is best known for his work with the band The Fray, which he co-founded in 2002. Young attended the University of Colorado at Boulder, where he studied music and business. After graduating, he moved to Denver and formed The Fray with Isaac Slade. The band released their debut album, How to Save a Life, in 2005, and it went on to become a multi-platinum success. Young has since released two solo albums, Echo (2008) and The Lost Songs (2011). He has also written and produced music for other artists, including Kelly Clarkson, Gavin DeGraw, and The Script.
