David Wohl is an American actor, producer, and writer. He is best known for his roles in the television series The Practice, Boston Legal, and The Good Wife. He has also appeared in films such as The Pelican Brief, The Client, and The Negotiator. Wohl was born on September 22, 1953 in Brooklyn, New York. He attended the University of California, Los Angeles, where he earned a degree in theater arts. Wohl began his career in the early 1980s, appearing in television shows such as The A-Team, Hill Street Blues, and St. Elsewhere. He made his feature film debut in the 1989 drama The Pelican Brief. He went on to appear in films such as The Client, The Negotiator, and The Good Shepherd. In 1997, Wohl was cast in the legal drama The Practice, playing the role of attorney Alan Shore. He remained with the show until its conclusion in 2004. He then went on to appear in the spin-off series Boston Legal, playing the role of attorney Denny Crane. He remained with the show until its conclusion in 2008. In 2010, Wohl was cast in the legal drama The Good Wife, playing the role of attorney Eli Gold.
