In the summer of 1995, he completely vanished. His friends and associates tried to in vain to find him. He had suffered some business reversals and many felt he was depressed. On August 7 he was found dead, the result of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, in a Century City, CA hotel room. His death was ruled a suicide.
