He began playing the bass guitar at the age of 15 and joined Fairport Convention in 1969. He has also played with Jethro Tull, The Ian Campbell Folk Group, and The Albion Band. Pegg has appeared in several films and television shows, including The Wicker Man (1973), The Who's Tommy (1975), and The Rutles (1978).
