Dave Hudgens is an American professional baseball coach and former player. He is currently the hitting coach for the Atlanta Braves of Major League Baseball (MLB). He previously served as the hitting coach for the Oakland Athletics, New York Mets, and Houston Astros. Hudgens was born on February 27, 1955 in San Diego, California. He attended San Diego State University, where he played college baseball for the Aztecs. He was drafted by the California Angels in the fourth round of the 1977 MLB Draft. Hudgens played in the minor leagues from 1977 to 1983, reaching the Triple-A level with the Salt Lake City Gulls in 1983. He then began his coaching career, serving as a hitting coach in the Angels' minor league system from 1984 to 1988. Hudgens was the hitting coach for the Oakland Athletics from 1996 to 2002. He then served as the hitting coach for the New York Mets from 2003 to 2009. He was the hitting coach for the Houston Astros from 2010 to 2014. Hudgens was hired as the hitting coach for the Atlanta Braves in 2015. He is currently in his sixth season with the Braves. As of 2021, Dave Hudgens's net worth is estimated to be roughly $2 million.
