Dave Gibson is an American singer-songwriter and musician. He is best known for his work with the country music group Exile, which he co-founded in 1978. He has also released several solo albums. Gibson was born in El Dorado, Arkansas, and grew up in nearby Camden. He began playing guitar at the age of 12, and by the time he was 15, he was playing in local bands. He attended the University of Arkansas at Monticello, where he studied music and played in a band called The Country Gentlemen. Gibson moved to Nashville in 1975 and began writing songs for various artists, including Conway Twitty, George Jones, and Reba McEntire. In 1978, he co-founded the band Exile with guitarist J.P. Pennington. The band had several hits, including "Kiss You All Over" and "I Don't Want to Be a Memory". Gibson left Exile in 1985 and began a solo career. He released several albums, including "Gibson & Campbell" (1985), "Gibson & Campbell II" (1987), and "Gibson & Campbell III" (1989). He also wrote and produced songs for other artists, including Kenny Rogers, Tanya Tucker, and John Anderson. Gibson continues to tour and perform with Exile.
