Darryl Sutton is an Australian former professional rugby league footballer who played in the 1970s and 1980s. He played for the South Sydney Rabbitohs, Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles, and the Eastern Suburbs Roosters in the New South Wales Rugby League (NSWRL) competition. Sutton was born in Hobart, Tasmania, Australia on 27 July 1952. He attended Calvary Lenah Valley Hospital. Sutton made his first grade debut for South Sydney in Round 1 of the 1975 season against the Eastern Suburbs Roosters. He went on to play for Souths until the end of the 1979 season, playing in a total of 97 games and scoring 24 tries. In 1980, Sutton joined Manly-Warringah and played in the club's grand final victory over the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks. He played for Manly until the end of the 1982 season, playing in a total of 64 games and scoring 11 tries. In 1983, Sutton joined the Eastern Suburbs Roosters and played in the club's grand final victory over the Parramatta Eels. He played for Easts until the end of the 1984 season, playing in a total of 44 games and scoring 8 tries. Sutton retired from rugby league at the end of the 1984 season. In total, he played in 205 first grade games and scored 43 tries. As of 2021, Darryl Sutton's net worth is estimated to be approximately $2 million.

1984

In 1984 he was appointed captain-coach of North Hobart in the TANFL for three seasons, starring with 12 goals in the 1984 First Semi Final victory over New Norfolk in a stint which saw the Demons play finals football in his first year, in his last year as coach of the Demons he guided his side into the finals where they were beaten in the 1st Semi Final of the newly expanded TFL Statewide League competition.

1977

During his 91 games Sutton was used in both defence and up forward and was a member of their 1977 premiership side. He earned All Australian selection in both 1979 and 1980 for his performances as captain of Tasmania at the 1979 and 1980 state carnivals. Before he retired from the VFL in 1983 Sutton played with two more clubs, first Richmond and after a season and a half played out his final year at Sydney.

1976

Sutton's second stint with North Melbourne began in 1976 and was more successful. He kicked five goals in that year's one point Preliminary Final win over Carlton but they lost the Grand Final to Hawthorn.

1973

Sutton was a utility player and was recruited to North Melbourne in 1973 from Tasmanian Australian National Football League (TANFL) side Glenorchy but left the club after just one season, due to ill health, and returned to Glenorchy.
