Paladin attended the Columbus College of Art and Design, where he studied illustration and animation. After graduating, he worked as a freelance artist and designer for various companies, including Microsoft, Sony, and Electronic Arts. In 2004, Paladin co-founded The Behemoth, an independent video game development studio. He served as the lead artist and designer for the studio's first game, Alien Hominid, which was released in 2004. He also worked on the studio's subsequent games, including Castle Crashers, BattleBlock Theater, and Pit People. Paladin has won numerous awards for his work, including the Independent Games Festival's Excellence in Visual Art award in 2006 for Alien Hominid. Paladin designed the critically acclaimed remake of Alien Hominid, as well as the beat 'em up game Castle Crashers, with his 2D style becoming signature for these games. His latest work is the 4th Behemoth game, Pit People.
