Dan Fisher was an American composer and arranger who worked in the film and television industry. He was born in Mount Vernon, New York, and began his career as a pianist and arranger for the US Navy Band in the 1940s. He then moved to Los Angeles and worked as a composer and arranger for television shows such as The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet, The Donna Reed Show, and The Andy Griffith Show. He also composed the theme song for the television show The Monkees. Fisher also composed music for several films, including The Great Race, The Russians Are Coming, The Russians Are Coming, and The Poseidon Adventure. He was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Song for his work on the film The Poseidon Adventure. Fisher died in Los Angeles in 2002 at the age of 81.
