Christopher House is a Canadian choreographer, dancer, and artistic director. He was born on May 30, 1955 in Toronto, Ontario. He is the artistic director of Toronto Dance Theatre, a post he has held since 1985. House began his career as a dancer in the 1970s, performing with the Toronto Dance Theatre, the National Ballet of Canada, and the Royal Winnipeg Ballet. He has choreographed works for the National Ballet of Canada, the Royal Winnipeg Ballet, and the National Arts Centre. He has also created works for the Canadian Opera Company, the Banff Centre, and the National Ballet School. House has received numerous awards and accolades for his work, including the Governor General's Performing Arts Award for Lifetime Artistic Achievement in 2012. He has also been awarded the Order of Canada, the Order of Ontario, and the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Medal. House is married to dancer and choreographer Louise Bédard. They have two children.
