Chris Nyst is an Australian novelist and screenwriter. He was born in Blackall, Queensland, Australia in 1953. He is best known for his novels, which include The Long Way Home, The Last Outlaw, and The Last Ride. Nyst began his career as a journalist, working for newspapers in Australia and the United Kingdom. He then moved into writing novels, and his first book, The Long Way Home, was published in 1988. He has since written several more novels, as well as screenplays for television and film. Nyst has won several awards for his writing, including the Ned Kelly Award for Best First Fiction in 1989, and the Queensland Premier's Literary Award for Best Fiction in 1992. Nyst is currently living in Brisbane, Australia. He is married and has two children.
